On Ilene's Work With Actors

"I've taken what I've learned from Ilene Starger's classes into all auditions, and that has really increased my callbacks."

- Graham Allen, Actor

"Over the last twenty-five years, some of my most successful audition experiences have been on projects cast by Ilene Starger.  She respects an actor's process, and knows how to get an actor to do his best.  Ilene coached me for an audition a few weeks ago and I got the job."

- John Rothman, Actor

"Ilene Starger's class has been an invaluable experience for me, and I can't wait to take it again. Ilene attracts wonderful people by being wonderful! Her relentless patience fosters a terrific environment for growth.  She is sharply perceptive but always gently constructive with her criticism.  She has such enthusiasm for the craft of acting that you feel as if you owe her your best, and she draws it out of you.  I left her class with a feeling of accomplishment, deeply aware of what I need to work on, and deeply determined to do the work."

-Jessamine Kelley, Actress

"Ilene Starger is my favorite casting director in the world, not just because she has great taste, intelligence and passion, but because she loves and supports actors - and you can see that in their performances both in the casting room and onscreen."

- Marc Lawrence, Writer/Director

"Ilene Starger is more than a teacher; she is a mentor and a friend.  With impeccable taste and a love of actors and acting, Ilene ennobles the audition process with a patience, specificity and warmth I have not found anywhere else."
